Harley with new rescue friend, Bella
Solveig and John Holbrook recently wrote to say they have a new rescue whippet, whom they have named, "Bella" (called Twinkle in her previous home).
"She is getting on very well with our other whippet Harley. We had to have our dear rescue dog Max put to sleep in December 2014, very sad, he was a lovely dog (a Heinz 57). My husband did not want another dog, as it had been so upsetting and sad losing Max, but our whippet Harley was lonely and subdued - he had always known life in our home with Max so I thought "we need another whippet".
"We were lucky enough to hear about Twinkle, who is a female whippet (age 8), went to see her in Hertfordshire and fell in love with her immediately and Harley seemed to get on well with her (in fact, Bella as she is known now, bosses Harley around!). She has settled in very well and loves going on walks around the grounds of Kedleston Hall and the local area. She is a lovely gentle whippet and loves being on your knee having her head stroked.
"Thank you again to Jenny, and Mrs Linda Jones who helped us with Bella, we are so lucky to have her."

A new Patron!
Catherine St Germans has agreed to become our new Patron, much to our delight. She is famed for her career in design and fashion, but, from a whippet viewpoint for her whippet Tea Party, hosted by her blue, Roo, who is shown with her. The party is held every year in May, in SE Cornwall, and attracts visitors from as far away as Leicestershire. She has recently organised the Port Eliot Festival, where there was a stall entirely devoted to our Rescue on the Saturday. We thank all those who made this possible.
We are sad to say goodbye to our previous patron, Mary Browning, who had been with us from our earliest days and retired early this year. We are so grateful for her beautiful artwork for our cards and for her constant support and help.

Have you got your Autumn Newsletter?
The autumn 2015 newsletter came out last month and, as a 'Friend', you are entitled to two newsletters per year, so please do let us know if you think you are missing one. Remember the newsletter lists some JRWR merchandise, which you can order from Llyn Chapman for the moment, although she is retiring at the end of the year... how will we cope without her?!
Gosh it's nearly Christmas again! where does the year go?
Here's hoping everyone has a happy time and a peaceful New Year in 2016...
Much good cheer to all.
